Quick Teaching Tip: History Hunt Revisited

For some of you, it’s the end of the school year.

You are tired.

You are writing report cards or narratives.

You are packing up your classroom and squirreling away the supplies for next year that have already arrived in hopes that the summer program that is using your classroom will not find your fresh stock of crayons and help themselves (or was that just my own experience?).

For some of you, you are on vacation.  You are lying in a darkened bedroom recovering from the school year.

You are sipping an iced Starbucks drink and wearing open toed shoes.

You are enjoying the silence instead of the deafening din of 29 fourth graders enthusiastically preparing for field day (Again, is this just me!?!?)

You are probably not ready to read about new instructional tips for next year’s class. You probably want to forget that you are a teacher until at least next week.

That is okay.  When you are ready, we are revisiting the idea of our history hunt.    In my own perusal of other blogs, I happened upon these fun lists of facts.  These are the perfect jumping off point for our history hunt.    And the good news is…you don’t have to try them today…you don’t even have to think about them until FALL.

Happy Summer, Fearless Educators!

P.S.  If you happen to feel bored (I laugh aloud at the idea) or you want to get a head start on next year, I encourage you to write your own list of twenty facts….I will publish the most interesting ones here!
